I Love Covers

While I don’t listen to Beyonce on a regular basis, I do like Single Ladies, and I’m totally impressed by her performance. And I love this cover. Enjoy.

Whirl

It’s been a whirl around here lately, and I have so much to tell you, but to hold you over, just thought I’d share.  I’ve started receiving the most wonderful ornaments for the ornament swap, and the first one’s from Kim Westad, a ceramist from the Bronx (YO!).  The ornament is just precious, and you’ll get pics of that later, but I am SO IN LOVE with her work.  I especially love her Whirl collection.  And be sure to check her Etsy.  If only I could whirl in the peaceful, organic way that these pieces do…

Don’t Worry, You Won’t Miss The Next One.

Today was the start of another of Lulu Smith’s Online Gallery days.  A lot has already sold, and if you are quick, you might be able to get this:

or these:

I’m sure there will be one in December.  You can sign up on her website to be notified of the next one and enter to win a free pair of earrings.  If you aren’t familiar with her work, well, what are you waiting for? And be sure to check out her blog.  That’s where you can find things like this, that I keep clicking on.

Charts

I’ve always been fascinated with charts and information.  I love how each item is carefully placed on the page, either illustrated amazingly well or photographed beautifully.

The two images above were found on BilbiOdyssey, which is an extensive collection of images and information, prepare to spend HOURS.

Rudolf Leuckart Wall Charts

From Morbid Anatomy.

Ernst Haeckel

Weed Charts

I could pour over the antique and vintage wall charts.

Have you seen the Cabinet of Curiosity, a Flickr group where you can find similar charts and collections of curious things.  Also, Organized Collection, another Flickr group, perhaps the modern version of the older wall charts. Lottie Frank

I have a little fashion illustration love.  It’s something I’ve been doing most of my life, for me, doodles on napkins, in my sketchbooks, on notes during meetings (shhh, don’t tell).

Remember this post where I mentioned Lottie Frank?  Lottie Frank is the beautiful work of illustrator/designer Lucy Claydon.  Well, I don’t know if you’ve been watching, but there’s new work in her Etsy shop.

There’s more treasure to explore in her Flickr too.

What To Do With Those Rags And Old Clothes

From the super creative Droog.  They are designed so you can add your own rags and clothes.  I also love Come A Little Bit Closer Bench, Nest House, Do Hit Chair, and check out their Labs, very cool.

More Sharpie Love…

We love our Sharpies at our house. Passionately. Sometimes, they are the only tool of choice for Iz. We decorate pumpkins with them, made Christmas cards, and made lots of other art.  I was thrilled to read about the basement decorated in Sharpie.  Via DesignMom and Cookie.
