I just knit a hat. I love my hat. (pictures later)
Sandra Backlund has knit some incredible fantastic amazing outfits.
I first saw her work in one of my issues of Selvedge:

I’m very excited about her current collection:

I especially love the way she transforms the body with her organic exaggerated shapes (not to mention those fabulous wedge shoes!). The shapes are quite beautiful and only make the bodies more beautiful. Her work is dreamy. Be sure to check the archives on her site to see more work.
Thanks to Design Milk for reminding me of Sandra Backlund.
I’ve been looking for ideas of ways to use the scraps from our textile items that are being used in our Eco-Quilts and while I’ve been staring at Issue 22 of Selvedge, and always stopping to stare and soak in this image, it wasn’t until today I did a little research.

Manon Gignoux, a French Stylist, Artist with incredible vision for re-purposing clothing and textiles has an incredible portfolio.

Her work is proof that re-purposed items can be well designed, sophisticated and elegant. Her work comes from studying people and how they wear clothing, and is quite astounding. I can’t find a piece I dislike, and I am in love with her flowers and necklaces, and well, everything. Please visit her site. The images are just breathtaking.
Remember this photo of my Inspiration Wall in my Studio?

This is a photo on Flickr that’s been added to the Inspiration Boards Pool, and I’ve been following the pool ever since. I’m always looking for and collecting things that inspire me. They got on my mantle, board or in a notebook (one of MANY!). But I love looking at other’s inspiration boards. I love the Flickr group and love even more that there’s a blog now about the creators of these inspiration boards.
Lately – I’ve been inspired by raw edges.

I love this piece on the cover of the latest Selvedge. I love this magazine. I could tear the whole thing apart and hang it all on the wall. I love the garments in the feature article. If you have a chance to pick it up, it’s worth it. Lovely.
I’ve been trying to find out more about the bed linens in Nanny McPhee. (I think the overall art direction of the movie is quite spectacular…candy for the eyes in my book.) So every once in a while I google, lots of good articles to read but don’t really come up with anything telling me about those beds!
I did get my most recent issue of Selvedge, and noticed the amazing crocheted scarves and necklaces by Sophie Digard. Beautiful little gems of scarves, crocheted with really amazing color combinations, and they really remind me of those precious blankets on the kids’ beds in Nanny Mcphee.

Below scarves available at Ped Shoes

More scarf images on Flickr.
Her necklaces are really, really precious. I love these little star flowers.
