I missed my 1 year anniversary. I missed my 100th post. But today, my dear peeps, this is my 200th post. So before I tell you about the 200th Post-O-Rama Giveaway, I thought I’d share some blogging love.
I started my blog mid 2002, on zannestar.com, which I lost to some boob mid 2006. I started so I could somehow keep in touch with friends and family. I felt like I had lost touch, and being so spread out, we don’t see each other often and I felt like this was a great way to let those I care about know more about me and what I was doing. I had hoped it would strike up dialogue, and it has. You don’t see most of it. I get wonderful emails all the time. Keeping in touch is good for the soul.
I started with posting about my knitting adventures. I was stuck in a job with a horrible human being for a boss and needed a new creative outlet. I bough a knitting book, a pair of needles and the yummiest pink wool yarn. I posted about my progress, linking to others. Anyway – that part is all gone now.
Now, I post about my inspiration. Things I think about and do. Sort of like my creative brain dump journal. I can tell you about my favorite things, and save them (so I can find them later), I can share stories and pictures, gathering information and organizing it (everything has it’s place).
I love the blogging community. It’s saved me from complete and total isolation after leaving NYC for the remote hills of Western Mass. It’s helped me connect and relate to other new moms, now more experienced moms, share my creations and inspirations with other makers of things. It’s greatly improved my letter (and email) writing skills. It’s kept me inspired and has been a part of my creativity for the last few years. What an amazing group of people to belong to. I admire and respect you all!

I tell people my favorite color is green, but I think it might actually be orange. My blog is at . I’m working on a baby outfit for my shop right now. Future projects include some clothing for myself.
Congratulations on 200 posts!
My favourite colours are blue, green, and black. I don’t have a blog. Right now I’m working on Monkey socks (which I haven’t tried knitting before, despite hearing so much about them). My to-do list is either so long that I can’t possibly type it all here or I don’t really have one, but I think my next project might be mittens for myself – I have made several pairs of basic mittens this winter and they’ve all been claimed by other people.
You are too cool – what a great idea!
My favorite colors are red and orange, and I really like pink and grey. No blog. I’m working on a tote bag made out of a felted sweater that was too big for me and lining it with a beautiful piece of fabric I got on sale. I hate the way the bottom came out so I’m cutting it off and making a new bottom. And, I’m adding a button closure to an adorable needle book I made on Wednesday. And, possibly making a few hemp/silk gift bags to donate to an auction at the conference I’m working next week.
To do list:
– finish hallway curtains (1 of 4 panels is complete…I have barely enough material and am joining two pieces, one patterned and one plain, and finishing with ribbon. a sane person would go buy more of the plain material for more seam allowance and make the whole project less of a nightmare….maybe I’ll do that.)
– a few felt projects
– yoga pants
– possibly place mats and napkins for wedding gift
– more felt projects!!!
But now I must shovel snow……Take care.
wow 200 posts!!well done! right done to business.
Favorite colours are anything really, i love pink and red together!
, but you know that anyway!
Right now i am sewing 3 little key purses ready to open my online shop..yay! and getting ready to attend my first major craft show ,double yay!
My to do list is growing everyday, more ‘jack’ bags, pinchusions, purses and appliqued kids cloths.
This month is full steam ahead!!thanks for the giveaway Does the random generator take bribes?????
Hi! I found you a couple of weeks ago and hope to come and see you in the workshop one of these days… well, not *these* days, necessarily.
I think that’s on my to-do list, along with finally sewing the flannel shirt I’ve been putting off and a couple of dresses.
Current project: lots of reading to take a giant exam and finish my MA. No other activities permitted until May.
Favorite colors: too many– right now green and blue. Always pink.
Congratulations on 200 posts! I love seeing what you’re working on!

I am knitting socks and a sweater for my husband and I have cut out (but not yet sewn) gift bags from the link you mailed out the other week.
My favorite color is purple, hands down.
My blog is
And ONE project I am working on? What, are you crazy? One project? I wish!
What’s on my project to do list..hmm…yoga pants (what, is there a trend?
), a silk slip, a bra(!), and the shirt I was going to make my husband for Christmas if he hadn’t taken over all my sewing room floor space with storage so I had no place to cut it out. I am way too ambitious.
Yeah 200 — is it like watching the odometer turn?
1. Today my favorite color is light green — anything from lime to light sage (off set with some rusty orange or salmon, yum!)
2. ; though I have not yet posted pictures of my latest completed project — a knit shirt — I promise I will do that soon….
3. My latest project is however being well-documented on said: trying to make our new house liveable! Today I began removing wood paneling.
4. My to-do list contains several rather ambitious projects including: a wedding dress for myself, redoing the walls and floors of our new house – 7 rooms to go, a knit dress, and a handful of sizeable projects (wedding invitations — considering making my own letterpress– does that make this ambitious??), more eggplant baby hats for all the babies in the world, and a lining for a fabulous knit bag my mom made.
I am also new here to western mass and have randomly reached out to find this creative source, how lucky! I hope to be able to visit and participate and to bring my daughter. Right now there is just too much snow! My piece for inspiration now is a tapestry panel that I want to make a wall hanging. I need to add some borders, I am unsure what type of fabric. That is half the fun! Thanks! Sue
Wow, 200! I am working on getting past #2.
1. My favorite color right now is orange (with a little pink thrown in).
2. My blog (a definite work in progress itself) is .
3. Right now I am busy sewing up bags, bibs, blankets & lots of other little things for my craft show this weekend. I have about 3 dozen handbags done, with about a dozen more cut & ready to sew.
4. I am designing a quilt. I have made small baby quilts, but never a full size one. My nieces (14 & 16)and I are going to put together a quilt. One of their teachers (and one of mine as well) passed away this winter after a long battle with breast cancer & they wanted to do something to honor her. This is a special project for us & we can’t wait to get started.
I wish my nieces and I lived closer to your shop. They would both love to make formal gowns & I would like to learn more about clothing construction (coat class!). One of these days I will have to make it up there.
Good luck in your future postings!
I was directed here from the SewMamaSew photo pool. I was curious how the grad photo fit into the mix. Now I know. Awesome dress! So 80s.
I haven’t started blogging yet…well, I started but it wasn’t the right time. Now, there is some random blog floating around out there, never to be posted on again. I just opened my flickr account and am inching closer to a ‘forever’ blog. I do lots of browsing though, lots of marvelling at the vastness of creativity out there. I hope to be part of the mix soon.
Like the first responder, I say my favourite colour is green but I think, right now, it’s orange. I’m really digging orange.
What I’m working on right now is getting off the couch and away from watching reality tv shows and into ‘MY room’ to journal and plan out my next step. Last night I organized and tidied it, wrote in my journal and opened a little box of forgotten stuff, memories of me before husband and child.
Tonight, after Survivor (of course), I will go back to my room and start cutting the first of many patterns I have planned for my spring wardrobe.
CONGRATULATIONS! I’m SUCH a fan, so much so that I actually saw you with your family at the Ashfield Fair this fall and was so star struck, I couldn’t even bring myself to say hi, I’m so sure NO words would have come out and then of course I have regretted it ever since!!! I’m going to make it to Luckystitches soon, and I can’t wait! So, way to go, I love how you are just making a way to do what you love and how you share it! THANK YOU!!!!! My favorite color is without a doubt PURPLE!!! Sorry I can’t share my blog, it’s imaginary although I do read a lot of blogs like yours by people who make all kinds of fun things!!!! I’m so inspired and can’t say enough great things about how incredible I think it is that this crazy internet can connect people and ideas….I really love making all kinds of things although right now I’m in the process of moving and unfortunately the only thing I’ve been making is a HUGE MESS!….. a few of the millions of things on my wish list are a hardcover book, leg warmers for my girls (probably will get moved to my “to do” list for next winter at this point! but I’m so excited!), placemats for our new house, a summer bag, spring/summer skirts for my girls, and some kind of snuggly something for my girls made with a piece of the satin left from my blanket growing up and on and on and on!!!! Thank you!
I found your blog the other day while researching what I am supposed to do/say on a blog, of which I am a proud owner of a brand new one. I LOVE your style. Your writing is lovely. It inspires and soothes at the same time. In fact, I used one of your subject lines to begin a post of my own. (Thank you!)
So, you asked about my favorite color: it’s actually a range. I LOVE the blue/green/purple range of colors. Watery colors, I guess. Projects I’m working on include painting my bathroom & putting in a new vanity, taxes, knitted baby booties (for a friend), adding more posts to my new blog, and mounting & framing some of my drawings & paintings. I wish I were more of a sewing kind of gal (my mom think’s it’s gene that skips a generation) but I just like knitting, & crocheting better.
Anyway, thanks for being out there for all of us who need a little inspiration!
