I meant to put something about meal planning, but my mac crashed when I tried to post a comment earlier and I forgot. Meal planning is my big 900 lb gorilla too. What I have been doing is recording what we eat all week (if I remember) in an Excel spreadsheet, so I have a bank of ideas saved up for later (and can avoid frequent repeats). Then my theory is I will do one crockpot meal, one pasta meal, one mexican/tex-mex meal, per week... crockpot because it's so easy, mexican because it's always popular in my family, pasta because it's cheap and quick... then mix up the other ideas. They come from Africa and are often raised around here because they like to eat ticks. (I have thought about getting some myself because I HATE ticks when they come in on my pets...they creep me out more than anything else!) I think you can eat their eggs and meat too... I don't really know. If I had them, I'd just have them as pets. So I guess someone's pets wandered off. Those are guinea fowl.
