Every morning we need to visit our garden or gardy as the Iz calls it. We don’t have much, a few cherry tomato plants, a few pepper plants and a few summer squash plants. I love it. Iz loves it. Rob loves it. Going out there everyday and seeing the differences, sometimes subtle, sometimes tremendous – it really fills my soul. Then picking the ripe tomato or pepper or squash – WOW! Iz loves popping a tomato in her mouth and rolling it around for a while. These tomatos taste sooooooo good. I’ll miss it this winter. But I’m already thinking about next spring. I’ve harvested some seeds from this years harvest in hopes that 6-8 weeks before planting time, I can get the seeds started.

I love being inspired. I’ve been working (slowly – I have a 19 month old that takes 99.9% of my time) on starting my own business and I am always curious what others are doing and are interested in. My brain starts twirling in all different directions. My heart beats a little faster, I get pretty excited. There are the sites I find through links and links from other sites like print & pattern.
Then there are the people I know and love doing amazing things like:
texturadesign, clip-n-seal, pugs, bikes and books!
The Beckerman Girls – you go girls! I was fortunate enough to work on a project with the Beckermans and love reading about them in the news.
Marcus – and beer
These goodies puts me in project heaven! We haven’t visited the peanut gallery in a while, but hope to stop by soon.
Stacey’s shop is amazing and the fact that she makes a ton of what’s in there is super impressive. I took a poncho class with her years ago (and now I am making one for my daughter), and I am amazed at her knowledge of knitting and apparel – not to mention textiles. Wish I was still in Brooklyn so I could visit – I’ll just keep reading her blogs.
I was so fortunate to work with Helane in a previous life, and to see Helane’s knitting shop grow – it’s really exciting and cool. Again – makes me wish I was still in NYC so I could spend some of my time knitting here.
Aimee, a long time friend who was able to start her own business, then help her husband launch his own business.
And there are so many more. To all my friends who make beautiful art and accessories, help to decorate the world and educate the world, and those who just make it all a better place – thanks for inspiring. You guys all ROCK!
A fresh start can always be a good thing (right Martha?). zannestar.com was sold out from under me, and I lost it…so welcome to zannestarS.com! I’m bummed I lost what I had started and had for a while, but it gives me a chance to start over, and change a few things.
We returned home tonight from a weekend away visiting family and friends. We also had visitors all last week. It was great seeing everybody. Thrilled to visit and be visited. So nice to come home and just be us. The Iz loved her bed, and jumped all over it for a while when we came upstairs. Ahhhh home. It’s nice to be back.
